The timber frame stairs are actually a gallery of sixteen different types of wood used on the stair riser and tread. All of these woods came from this property, they are Beech, Hemlock, Poplar, Red Maple, Red Oak, Spruce, Cherry, Locust, White Pine, Yellow Birch, Butternut, White Birch, Hornbeam, Basswood, Sugar Maple, and White Ash.
The stairs were designed by Ed Levin and his plans are detailed in the Design Plan section. This masterpiece was crafted by Sanford Tyler of West Hyannis Port, MA and it certainly is a magnificent piece of art.
